1. A Coach’s decision is final and will not be contested. All team members are to respect that decision.

If a player does strongly disagree with a coach’s decision, he will first speak with his captain and then with the coach at an appropriate time, so as to not interfere with game plans and team cohesion.

2. Training is mandatory. All players are expected to attend all training sessions regardless of whether they plan on playing in the week’s match.

If you must miss a session, the coach will be notified by email or phone message as soon as possible.

We understand that classes and work schedules may conflict with training, but all efforts will be made to attend all training sessions.

3. Negative criticism of teammates will not be accepted. Concerns about the actions and/or play of a teammate are to be addressed to the team captain. He will then discuss them with the coach.

If we wish to grow as a club we must grow as a team. That means treating all members with respect.

4. During a match, only the captain will speak to the referee and that will only be done at appropriate times. We are a young squad that will not be given much respect by Ottawa referees. That is why we must earn some respect by conducting ourselves honorably on the pitch.

5. A lack of discipline on the field will not be tolerated. Such behavior, ranging from consistent careless penalties to dangerous play, will result in the player being removed from the match. Further disciplinary actions will be discussed by the club’s executive.

6. Each player will ABSTAIN from alcohol and narcotics over a period of 24 hours prior to game time. Any violation of this rule will result in a one-game suspension.

7. Practice begins promptly at 7: 00am. Players should arrive no later than 6:30am in order to do a complete dynamic warm up and stretch.

Selection:

1. Selection will be based on the following criteria in this order:

i) pay to play, the club will seek dues and expects them to be paid

ii) attendance at training

iii) need to fill certain positions

iv) skill level

v) fitness

vi) overall attitude and willingness to play

2. Selection for a Saturday match begins on the preceding Tuesday and will be completed and announced at the conclusion of Wednesday’s practice.

3. The selected team will consist of 22 players who will suit up for the game. Those not selected are encouraged to be presented at the match and support their teammates.

On a side note: Last season there were a couple incidences of players arriving unannouced to a match and expecting to play. Such behaviour will no longer be tolerated. Those showing dedication to the club will receive priority.

4. Those selected will arrive at the pitch ONE HOUR prior to the start of the match and are expected to be dressed and ready to go 45 minutes prior to kick-off.
